Keeping your library safe

Backups, updates, storage and privacy.

• Backups: x4u backs up your library each day and each week. In Settings → Backups you can also keep copies on another drive, or a folder OneDrive or Dropbox syncs.
• Updating: each new version is posted on Patreon. Quit x4u, replace its folder with the new one, and start it again. Your library carries on, and x4u backs it up before any update that changes how it's stored. What's new lists every change.
• Room: Settings → Storage shows how much space x4u uses, and can move its data to another drive.
• Privacy: no accounts, ads or tracking. StashDB sees your videos' fingerprints, never their file names, folders or what you watch.
